## Overview

The physical substrate of AI compute: accelerator cards, AI servers, cluster networking and storage. This layer decides whether a model can be trained at all and how fast it infers - and what a unit of compute costs to run. The three real constraints are memory capacity, interconnect bandwidth and per-card power; together they determine how many cards fit in a server and how many servers fit in a rack.
